Prohibited Items

Booko is an online platform for second-hand books. Only items that comply with Booko's rules and applicable law may be listed on the platform.

To protect users and comply with the law, listing or selling the following items and content is prohibited:

1. Illegal items

  • Any item whose sale is prohibited under Georgian law.
  • Stolen goods — or items you do not have the legal right to sell.

2. False listings

  • False, misleading, or fraudulent listings — including listings for non-existent items, listings with false descriptions, or listings created for the purpose of deception.

3. Pirated, counterfeit, or copyright-infringing material

  • Illegally photocopied, scanned, forged, or otherwise reproduced books that infringe the rights of the author or publisher.
  • Unauthorised use of another person's copyrighted works, trademarks, or intellectual property.
  • Other material infringing third-party intellectual or personal rights.

4. Dangerous, regulated, or restricted items

  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, narcotics, medicines, toxic substances, and other products whose sale is regulated or prohibited by law.

5. Harmful or prohibited content

  • Extremist or hate-speech material — inciting violence, discrimination, or hatred based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, orientation, or other grounds.
  • Child sexual exploitation material — absolutely prohibited and reported immediately to the relevant authorities.
  • Pornographic or explicit material.

6. Non-book items

  • Items outside the categories officially permitted by Booko (courses/accessories added in future will be regulated separately).

Enforcement

Booko uses moderation and a user-reporting system. If you see a listing that breaks the rules, use the "Report listing" button.

Booko may, at any time and without prior warning:

  • remove or hide a listing;
  • suspend or restrict a user's account;
  • notify the relevant authorities,

where there is reasonable suspicion that a listing or a user's conduct violates these rules or applicable law.

Booko endeavours to detect violations promptly, but cannot guarantee that every listing placed on the platform is screened in advance. The user is solely responsible for the legality of the listings they place and of their content.
